Dan Bortolotti is the author of seven books of nonfiction and has written dozens of feature articles for magazines and newspapers in Canada and the US.

Dan's most recent book is Wild Blue, a natural history of the blue whale, published in Canada by Thomas Allen Publishers and in the US by Thomas Dunne Books. The Smithsonian Institution has called it "quite simply one of the best books ever written on any whale."

Hope in Hell (Firefly Books), a widely acclaimed portrait of the Nobel-winning humanitarian organization Doctors Without Borders, was first published in 2004 and re-released in a revised edition in 2010. The new edition is now available for pre-order.

Dan's journalism has appeared in Maclean's, MoneySense, Financial Post Magazine, Canadian Geographic and More, and can be found in recycling boxes everywhere. His work was nominated for four National Magazine Awards in 2010.

Dan also hosts a blog on investing called Canadian Couch Potato. In 2010, it was runner-up in the Globe and Mail's survey of the best investing blogs in Canada.
