
Dan Bortolotti is the author of seven books of nonfiction and has written dozens of feature articles for magazines and newspapers in Canada and the US.
Dan's most recent book is Wild Blue, a natural history of the blue whale, published in Canada by Thomas Allen Publishers and in the US by Thomas Dunne Books. The Smithsonian Institution has called it "quite simply one of the best books ever written on any whale."
Hope in Hell (Firefly Books), a widely acclaimed portrait of the Nobel-winning humanitarian organization Doctors Without Borders, was first published in 2004. A fully revised and updated edition is scheduled for publication in 2010.
Dan's journalism has appeared in Maclean's, MoneySense, Financial Post Magazine, National Post and Chatelaine, and can be found in recycling boxes everywhere.
He has also worked on staff at Equinox, Today's Parent and MoneySense, and does regular editorial work for several Canadian magazines.
